Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is an inspiring experience in which rescue horses help heal humans. The horses are a therapeutic companion and are a unique tool for emotional growth and learning for our clients.
The horses used in West Ridge Academy's therapy process include a variety of rescue horses, from mustangs to horses and ponies. The mustangs have recently been living wild in the mountains and deserts of the United States, whereas the horses and ponies have been raised in domestic environments and have interacted with humans for most of their lives.
Horses with different backgrounds are able to uniquely bond with the clients we serve because of their similar backgrounds. The benefit of horse/human interactions is to heal both human and equine clients.
