ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS

Kristy Napoli

Kristy Napoli teaches English Language Arts at West Ridge Academy. After graduating from Brigham Young University with a BA in English Teaching, Kristy first began her career in Utah but soon moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. During her eighteen years in the Clark County School District (CCSD), Kristy was lucky enough to teach a wide variety of English subjects and grade levels, from ELA 7-English 12, to American Literature, and Mythology, to elective classes of Freshman and Junior Studies, to name a few. Kristy continued her education at Touro University-Nevada and earned her Master of Education in Instruction and Curriculum: Emphasis in School Counseling, where she was licensed as both an English instructor and K-12 school counselor in Nevada.

While well-seasoned with comprehensive high school campuses, Kristy’s favorite place to teach was at West Preparatory Academy at Charles I. West, a small high school for at-risk students. It was because of the relationships she built with the students there that Kristy was awarded the Heart of Education Award and CCSD’s Teacher of the Game for 2016, a personal highlight in her career.  These experiences are what drew Kristy to West Ridge Academy, where she continues her passion for teaching and reaching out to help students.

When not in the classroom, Kristy enjoys traveling and exploring new places with her husband, spending time with her five children, and relaxing with a good book.
